“The 2nd Series of Renminbi Banknotes” were introduced by the People’s Bank of China in 1955. It is the FIRST official Renminbi (RMB) collection after the PRC was established in 1949, which also makes it the FIRST RMB banknote series with the PRC national emblem. This authenticated edition consists of 11 banknotes from the 2nd series of RMB banknotes. There are 9 denominations in this edition, including 5 yuan, 2 yuan, 1 yuan (two editions), 5 jiao (two editions), 2 jiao, 1 jiao, 5 fen, 2 fen and 1 fen. Each banknote is graded as “Grade 9”, the highest grade for circulated banknotes, and sealed by “Zhongchao Authentication & Grading”, the only official RMB currency grading institute in China. Housed in a deluxe collection album, this edition is strictly limited to 800 sets worldwide with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Withdrawn from circulation for decades, these banknotes are extremely difficult to find in good condition.
